Add a channel

This is a quick overview, for the detailed documentation, refer to the Channels documentation.

1. Log in to the TVMS, click My Deployments, select your desired CMS.

It's better to add UI Groups and Packages first, so we can add channels there. UI Group may be a content genre, e.g. News, Sports, Comedy. Package is a business unit that you will use in the product creation

Click UI Groups on the left panel. Click the Add UI Group button, then the popup window appears. Specify its name, then click Add Group.

Then, click Packages on the left panel, add a package - it can be referred to as Basic, Extra, etc.

Once UI Groups and Packages are created, continue the channels adding.

2. Click the Add Channel button to start adding the content. Specify its number, name, and EPG.

For EPG settings, refer to the How to add EPG guide.

2.2 Specify the Low-res and High-res URLs. The first option is for Set-top boxes and SmartTVs, the second one is for mobile devices and WebTV. You may use one stream in both fields.

Choose the security method - the default one is Akamai Legacy Token.

2.3 InteractiveTV activates CatchupTV and ReplayTV functionality. Specify the type of your software, commonly it is FLS Software. Specify the Alternative URL for CatchupTV if it differs from the LiveTV URL.

2.4 The next step is to upload a channel icon. Picture must be of 1:1 aspect ratio. We recommend to upload 180x180 px pictures of high quality.

3. Add the channel to a UI group and a TV package.

4. Press Add Channel to finish. Don’t forget to Cloud Sync the changes, otherwise, the changes won’t be applied to end users.
