Open the Channels page in CMS. Click the «Add Channel» button.
Number - a channel number that is used in the user TV application
Name - a channel name that is used in the user TV application
Meta - an additional meta information, like identifying a channel's timezone or a state
EPG Offset - tweak the hours of your XML TV if it is not UTC
EPG Url - select the url of the EPG. We explain how to add them later on
EPG Channel Name - select the channel from the XLM TV file at the EPG Url
EPG Sub Channel Name - select an additional EPG option for a channel (if any)
As the EPG is dependent on channels, it needs to be published for products again if channels were changed
PayPerView Settings - enables pay per view rules, if any
Choose a stream protection type: Akamai Legacy Token, Akamai Token, Flussonic Token.
DRM - Use Widevine / Fairplay DRM to protect your streams.
Choose which DRM will you use - BuyDRM or Irdeto.
When using Widevine/Fairplay you need a contract with BuyDRM.
Standard - this URL is used for Android, WebTV, and Roku devices, better use HLS
iOS/TVOS - this URL is used for Apple devices, TVOS is for Apple TV, better use HLS
Tizen/WebOS - this URL is used for Samsung or LG based TVs, better use DASH
Enable InteractiveTV - InteractiveTV provides CatchupTV, PauseTV, ReplayTV and DVR to end customers. DVEO Hardware and Flussonic Software transcoders are supported.
VAST URL - a link to a VAST advertisement
UI Groups - assigns a channel to a UI group(s), make it visible in the customer application
TV Packages - assigns a channel to a TV Package(s), make the channel available for customers
Enable Overlay Ads - banners that are shown on the right side while watching TV
Enable Preroll Ads - commercials that are shown before starting the channel
Enable Ticker Ads - a scrolling text that is shown at the bottom of the screen
Parental Control - check this box to ask for a parental password for watching
Pin to UI home screen - show this channel on the home screen
Use icons of 1:1 aspect ratio. Pictures are automatically resized to 180x180, 120x120 and 80x80 px. For the best UI experience we advise you to use transparent PNG icons.
Click «Add Channel» to finish.
How to add many channels?
In this case, use the import file. Please, refer How to you use import files.
I don't see new channels in the user application
Once the channel is added, assigned to a UI group, and to a Package, don't forget to Cloud sync the Channels, otherwise, the changes don't apply.
The channel is not playing
Check the following:
Initial video stream, make sure that the stream is of supported format
Check the channel using another device
Check geoban settings in TVMS and in CDN
