Super Hostname

When to use a Super hostname?

By TVMS design, you can create multiple deployments (combinations of CMS and CRM/UIToolkit) in the TVMS.

This is used when you want to have several separated services, for example for different brands, or when you plan to offer the platform to third party companies (each with their own independent deployment). For more information contact your contact person in support or sales.

How does it work

When implemented, the generic app in Appstore connects to a Service ID page. It is like a switchboard to connect an app to a specific CRM. With the Service ID, a subscriber is linked to the required CRM for the next steps like login to the specific service.

Service ID is a unique 3-digit identifier of a particular service. So, every hostname in a Super Hostname will have its own Service ID. When a customer logs in to an application, he enters it and the app connects to a required CRM. Take a look how the Service ID screen looks in the users app.

Which domain name to use?

Only third-level domains are allowed. Use domain names like watch.companyname.com or app.companyname.com.

Your domain like app.company.com must be CNAME to our edgename: securecloudmap.akamaized.net. Refer for manual examples of GoDaddy and CloudFlare.

Before you add a superhost name, make sure that you already have hostnames for every individual deployment. Refer to the Add a hostname guide to learn more.

Then, ask MwareTV support team to make a domain name secure.

Step by step

  1. Go to the Top menu, click Settings, open the Super Hostname

  2. Toggle Is Secure ON, specify a production hostname.

  3. Then, specify Support URL, Login Text, upload logos, and select a desired selection color.

  4. Click Add Hostname to finish. Then, a new hostname appears in the table below

Click Details. There you find the hostname settings that you may check or change. Scroll down and take a look at the Add Subdomains table:

Select a required CRM, then a required hostname. Click Add Subdomain to apply the changes. Then, the hostname will be bound to the Super hostname with its Service ID (Unique code).
